About the role

Position Overview: Reporting to the Lead Metallurgist, the Tailings Coordinator is responsible for the support of the Kidd Metallurgical Site Tailings Management Area (TMA) operation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing high-level day-to-day direction and support for activities within the TMA
  • Coordinating with the metallurgical, environmental, maintenance and operations teams to ensure TMA operation meets all Company policy and legislated requirements
  • Managing capital and operating projects within the TMA, such as improvement projects, berm raises and dredging campaigns
  • Leading and coordinating Spring Melt and Fall Rains Preparation for the Kidd Metallurgical Site
  • Acting as a liaison for the Kidd Metallurgical Closed Sites
  • Providing direction to and working with the Tailings Working Leader with regards to TMA operation. The Tailings Working Leader is a direct report to this position.
  • Providing insight into best operational practises with regards to present and emerging technologies, maintenance activities and coordination and overall TMA management strategy.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years operational experience in an industrial setting, tailings area experience strongly preferred
  • Project Management and supervision experience is an asset
  • Either Diploma or Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience

Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts or 5 days/week 8-hour shifts ( Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
