Job Description Summary of Job Functions: Set up and operate CNC machines, 3, 4 and 5 axes to manufacture precision components according to defined specifications. Setup cutting tools and machine holding fixtures. Conduct regular machine Preventive Maintenance. Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives. Interpret drawings and GD&T requirements. Perform manual inspections on machined parts.
Work with minimum supervision in a high-paced production environment. Adhere to manufacturing systems and procedures, ensuring safety for self and others.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills: 3,4 and 5 axis CNC machines to produce precision aerospace components.
- Perform measurements of parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and meet production goals.
- Troubleshoot machine issues to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Mentor and train lower-level machinists, sharing your knowledge and skills to enhance team productivity.
- Uphold safety protocols and quality standards, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Completion of a General Machinist ticket/certification or eligibility to obtain it within 1-2 years.
- 5 years of machining experience, particularly in aerospace, with a strong emphasis on CNC multi axis machining centers.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Knowledge of a CAM system
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and AS9100 requirements is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Must be flexible to work different shifts
- This position may require standing for extended periods
- Regular exposure to machinery and tools in a manufacturing environment.
