Title Client Services Specialist Job Status Auxiliary Position Overview

The Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division is looking for an auxiliary Client Services Specialist to work in the IT Service Desk supporting the City’s business unit staff.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure & Operations, you will be respo n sible for responding to requests from staff to provide front-line problem solving and user support relating to computers, hardware, software and telephones, both mobile and office. You will investigate, assess and resolve problems and refer more complex issues and unresolved software and communications problems, and hardware malfunctions, to vendors or other specialists and/or IT staff. You will also install equipment, components, software and perform updates; provide hands-on assistance and orientation to users, and prepare and maintain a variety of user and support documentation on a regular, day-to-day basis. The work location is North Vancouver City Hall.

Requirements You will have completed a Certificate in Information Technology or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will be proficient in identifying and resolving hardware and software problems and in the operation of communications for networked microcomputer systems. In addition, you will be familiar with the installation and configuration of networked equipment and related technology. You are a team player with proven communication, troubleshooting, and prioritization skills. A good understanding of the municipal environment and recent experience in Windows, Microsoft Office, records and document management systems, Active Directory, and telephone systems would be assets.

Compensation $40.74 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits

(Pay Grade 23 – January 2024 rates)
