Job Overview
The Dealer Finance Clerk with lending limits is responsible for providing prompt service to dealerships and acting on requests for credit in a timely manner.
Role
In the role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Receive and process, review and adjudicate all applications from dealers through the loan system, referring any loans not approved by the system or within Letter Of Authority to Manager, DFC or Delegate for their review/approval
- Key all loans into the banking system including but not limited to programming new accounts
- Perform all duties within guidelines outlined in your "Letter of Authority"
- Provide support to dealers by handling all incoming calls and inquiries
- Ensure all loans are secure prior to being advanced
- Diligently complete daily tracking and follow up on pending deals
- Conduct file audits to ensure documentation is complete and correct
- Conduct investigations and research as it is needed to support applications
- File documents and complete all correspondence in a timely manner
- Complete all DFC related monthly report entries
- Accurately balance the general ledger daily
- Promptly manage relationships with Dealerships
- Communicate with Members if any fraud warnings arise
- Support team to ensure maximum efficiency in delivering Member service
- Adhere to policies and procedures at all times, as amended from to time
- Consider healthsafety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of yourself and others
- Assist with cross training and job shadowing in all areas within the department
- Perform other duties as we may need you to do
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- 1 year Credit Union/other Financial Institution or customer service experience
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Temenos Banking System and Criterion/Prolender or equivalent banking and lending platforms
- Strong understanding of credit lending and loan proofing
- Must have superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and trustworthiness
- Must be able to work well with minimum supervision
- Ability to effectively problem solve to find creative and beneficial solutions
- Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment while being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Ability to share knowledge and best practices
- Must be capable of working as a team player
- Receptive to feedback and coaching
- Work within established work hours to meet Member service demands
- Must have a positive attitude and willing to go above and beyond
- Be able to take action in difficult and challenging situations and deal with uncertainty
- Do the right things for the right reasons
- Ability to identify and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
