Our member is looking for a Contents Lead Technician - Restoration based in Barrie, ON , to join their team.
Job Description Our member is a disaster recovery, property restoration, renovation, and construction company with over 50 years in business.
Under the direction of the Emergency Manager, the Contents Lead oversees and provides direction to the Contents Technician(s). The team works in the field on emergency and restoration projects, primarily managing all hard and soft contents left on-site after a disaster. Responsibilities include coordinating the cleaning and restoration of personal and commercial items to their pre-disaster condition whenever possible. This is a supervisory role with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and superior customer service.
Duties
- Lead and provide direction to the team in managing projects from inception to completion.
- Oversee the team to ensure proper listing, photographing, packing, cleaning, storing, and returning of contents throughout the restoration process (including salvageable and non-salvageable items).
- Use technology tools such as mobile devices and apps to label, upload photos, capture panoramic photo tours (e.g., Docusketch), and upload documentation.
- Maintain organized tracking of contents in the warehouse.
- Provide regular status updates and reports to PMs and PMAs.
- Coordinate with PMAs, Adjusters, and Homeowners for viewing and disposal of non-salvageable items.
- Obtain necessary approvals from PM or PMA for content disposal.
- Assist with the packing, pickup, and delivery of contents to property owners.
- Ensure customer property and private information remain confidential.
- Report accidents or near-misses promptly using official forms.
- Accurately record team hours, explaining all non-productive and overtime hours in detail
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the Disaster restoration industry
- Minimum of 2 years as Contents Lead
- Knowledge of restoration techniques including water damage, fire damage, asbestos abatement, ultrasonic cleaning, content packing, and handling techniques
- Demonstrated experience with Xactanalysis preferred
- Working knowledge of the insurance industry
- Excellent computer skills
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and ability to be insurable

Salary: $25-$27/hr
