Job Overview

The Data Validation Senior Advisor – FCCS Project will play a critical role in supporting a major financial consolidation system migration from HFM to Oracle FCCS. This position is responsible for executing and overseeing data validation activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data throughout the implementation lifecycle. Working closely with Finance, Consolidation, Reporting, Technology, and implementation partner teams, the successful candidate will validate financial data, journals, consolidation results, and reporting outputs to support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel close activities, and the planned January 2027 go-live. This role requires strong financial systems expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve complex data issues while minimizing implementation risk.

Key Responsibilities

Execute data validation activities across assigned periods, entities, accounts, currencies, and consolidation levels within Oracle FCCS. Validate Oracle GL/ERP data loads, converted HFM journal data, opening balances, periodic activity, and FCCS consolidation results. Compare FCCS outputs against HFM and other source systems using Smart View, Excel validation workbooks, ad hoc queries, reconciliations, and reporting tools. Review entity-level and consolidated financial results in both functional currency and CAD, investigating and resolving material variances. Identify, document, triage, and retest issues related to data mappings, account rollups, entity hierarchies, journals, intercompany eliminations, plug accounts, foreign currency translation, consolidations, data loads, and reporting outputs. Maintain comprehensive validation evidence, including screenshots, workpapers, defect documentation, remediation notes, status updates, and retesting results. Collaborate with Finance, Reporting, Consolidation, Technology, and implementation partner teams to support issue investigation and timely resolution. Support SIT, UAT, parallel close, and go-live readiness activities by ensuring validation outcomes are completed, documented, and aligned with acceptance criteria. Track assigned validation activities, monitor progress, identify risks and blockers, and provide regular updates through project meetings and status discussions. Recommend and implement improvements to validation templates, workpapers, and repeatable processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort. Contribute to overall project quality by ensuring financial data accuracy and supporting successful FCCS implementation outcomes.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, finance systems, finance transformation, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of financial close processes, consolidation accounting, legal entity reporting, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, journal entries, and financial statement reporting. Proven experience validating data between legacy and target systems during ERP, EPM, financial systems, or transformation initiatives. Demonstrated ability to investigate complex data discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex reconciliations, variance analysis, pivot tables, formulas, and large-volume data analysis. Strong documentation and testing discipline with experience maintaining validation evidence, issue logs, defect records, test results, and status reporting. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and escalate risks and issues appropriately in a fast-paced project environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) or comparable senior-level finance experience preferred.

Preferred Experience

Oracle FCCS and Oracle EPM Cloud. Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). Oracle GL and ERP data extraction and validation processes. Smart View reporting and analysis tools. Advanced Excel validation templates and comparison workbooks. Power Query or similar data transformation and analysis tools. QTest or comparable test management and defect tracking platforms. Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools.

Key Success Measures

Validation activities are completed on schedule with clear supporting evidence and status reporting. Data quality issues are identified early, documented accurately, and routed to appropriate stakeholders for resolution. Defects are successfully retested and confirmed as remediated. Project risks, issues, and blockers are communicated clearly and proactively. FCCS data readiness is achieved in support of SIT, UAT, parallel close activities, and successful go-live execution.
