The Opportunity
GFL Environmental is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical AR Reconciliation Analyst to join our Order to Cash team in Vaughan, Ontario. The successful candidate will be a critical player in ensuring the accuracy of customer accounts and general ledger balances. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple reconciliation processes effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Account Reconciliation: Accurately reconcile customer Accounts Receivable (AR) accounts daily, weekly, and monthly to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Credit Balance Management: Thoroughly investigate, analyze, and action customer credit balances, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve and process refunds or necessary adjustments.
- General Ledger (GL) Reconciliation: Reconcile AR-related general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Collaborate with the Collections, Billing, and Operations teams to research and resolve complex reconciliation issues and transactional errors.
- Reporting & Ad-hoc Requests: Assist the management team with various ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests related to AR and reconciliation.
Qualifications And Skills Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A degree from a two-year college, technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel (creating basic formulas, sorting data, and filtering). Proficient in Google Drive, including Sheets, Gmail, and Docs.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience or foundational knowledge in an accounting, finance, or reconciliation role.
Preferred Experience
- Excel Expertise: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas).
- Communication & Service: Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work across various teams and departments to achieve common goals.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Organizational Skills: Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
