About the role You own paid acquisition for a group of DTC brands, not only their ad accounts. You're the senior owner of performance and the founder's go-to on paid. You grow revenue, hold the margin, and keep hunting for the next opportunity to grow the business through paid ads. You lead with the numbers and the unit economics, and you drive the work across paid social, creative, pages, and offers. You run paid media like an operator running a P&L.
What you own The media and the measurement Run Meta and TikTok for brands at every stage, from first real scale to mature spend. Manage to contribution profit and blended ROAS, never platform ROAS. Own the measurement spec end to end: pixel and CAPI, attribution windows, reported vs incremental. Never optimize to a broken signal. Pull attribution and profit tooling into the decision, not just the report. Follow the number past the click: the page, the email and SMS flows, the offer math. Turn performance into the creative testing roadmap and brief it to creative. Keep a test live at all times. Read the creative mix as a system against the brand thesis, not ad-by-ad on noisy numbers. Find the bottleneck when it sits outside the ad account, and get the right people on it. You think in CAC, LTV, MER, and contribution margin, and in how much more the account can take.
The growth plan Own the growth and profit targets for your brands, and the forecast that gets you there. Hold contribution margin and cash flow while you scale, not just topline. Set the strategy the team builds against: account structure, creative system, measurement, and a plan for the next leg of scale. Set budget pacing plans, spend allocation across creatives / campaigns, performance thresholds and targets. Spot the ceiling before performance flattens, and have the next move ready across creative, audience, and funnel. Concept landing pages that lift CVR, and run offer tests that find margin the funnel's leaving on the table. Make the call when growth and risk pull against each other, and stand behind it.
The client relationship Carry the relationship. Run the rhythm yourself, from the weekly note to the quarterly plan. Hold the room when it's tense, and give a clear recommendation anyway. Say the hard thing early: a soft month, a budget pull, a change of direction. Put the numbers in plain terms a founder or their finance lead can act on. Build the kind of trust that renews and expands the account. Flag the concern before the client feels it.
You'll also steer and give straight feedback to junior buyers, take new brands from kickoff to steady profit, and show up in pitches as the person who'll actually run the account.
What you bring Experience leading growth for direct-to-consumer brands on Shopify through Meta Ads. A track record scaling paid social spend up to six figures / month, with results you can show. Fluent in Meta advertising strategy. Working knowledge of Google and TikTok. You can model a brand's unit economics: CM, CAC, LTV, payback. You've taken brands from early days through real scale. You run your own book and know what to escalate and when. You've trained or led junior buyers. Sharp on the page and in the room. You can carry a founder call solo.
