About the role

Are you passionate about helping people and organizations navigate change successfully? As a Change Management Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that new initiatives are understood, adopted, and sustained across SMS Equipment. Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Change Management, you’ll begin by supporting an ERP process review, while also taking on other assignments to develop and implement change management strategies that help leaders and employees succeed through transformation.

Location: Corporate Office in Acheson, AB
Salary: $90,000-$100,000 per annum.
Work arrangement: Hybrid - providing the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that support successful adoption of new initiatives.
  • Conduct impact and readiness assessments to identify risks, stakeholder needs, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Partner with leaders, project teams, and change champions to build commitment and drive alignment across the organization.
  • Design and deliver clear communication and engagement plans that build awareness and understanding of the change.
  • Coordinate training, communication, and other readiness activities to help employees adapt and thrive through change.
  • Monitor and evaluate adoption progress, providing insights and recommendations to improve project outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for change management practices, contributing to a culture of agility and continuous improvement.

What you bring:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how people experience change and what it takes to guide them through it, along with experience supporting large-scale organizational change efforts. Additional skills and qualifications include:

  • Prior experience supporting ERP changes and implementation preferred.
  • Solid understanding of how people experience and adapt to change.
  • Experience with change management principles, tools, and methodologies (Prosci® an asset).
  • Strong communication, active listening, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient in the face of ambiguity.
  • Strategic and organized, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Sound business acumen and familiarity with project management practices.
