Summary Biosphere Eco-Cities Canada (BECC) is looking for two volunteers to update and manage an electronic document system on Google Drive. The result will be a simple and rational system that BECC members (about 40 volunteers) can use.
Description What you’ll be doing
The Biosphere Eco-City (BEC) approach engages people in sustainability through
projects that educate and involve them. BECC coordinates eight projects in Toronto,
Brampton, Edmonton, Vancouver. Ottawa BEC manages its projects independently.

websites for BEC cities (e.g., Toronto.BioEcoCity.org, Edmonton.BioEcoCity.org etc.).
THE TASK
National Folders/Files (1 st priority)
Review the current document system on the BECC G-drive.
Consult the BECC President on details and needs
Liaise with leaders of national teams (Project Development, Fundraising)
Propose a better folder/file system to the BECC board
Provide training and assistance on files for members.
BEC Cities Folders/Files (2 nd priority)
Review and assist development of document systems for 4 BEC Cities
Desired Abilities Ability to organize accurate electronic records
Knowledge of document management systems
Ability to create a template for restricted access to some folders & flies
Ability to create a document retention policy
Ability to develop a method to archive or dispose of older files
Communication skills to assist volunteers to input and access files
Analytical and detail oriented.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The team lead and team member would report to the BECC Director of Administration.
COMMITMENT
A commitment of 4-5 hours per week for 6 months is requested for this position.
