Position Description
The SickKids Hospital Concierge and Navigation Team is part of the Patient and Family Experience department, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to the patients and families we serve. The Holiday Navigator is a full-time 9-week contract. In this role, you will support staff and the Foundation Relations team in organizing and distributing donated toys during the Holiday Season.
Here's What You'll Get to Do
- Receive and organize toy donations for patients and their families.
- Determine the appropriateness of the toys received and distribute gifts that do not meet hospital criteria for distribution to other community agencies or resources that may be able to use them.
- Meeting with gift-in-kind donors to accept the donation, thank them on behalf of the hospital, take photos and provide thank you certificates in appreciation of their donation.
- Meeting staff from various departments to help fill their toy requests.
- Work closely with shipping and receiving to track the incoming and outgoing of donations.
- Supervise holiday volunteers.
- Tracking all holiday donations that come in.
- Sponsor-a-Family program support in the organizing of gift packages.
Here's What You'll Need
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
- Friendly, dependable, and compassionate individual with a high degree of professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Adaptability to change and flexibility.
- Ability to wear a mask and stand for 1-2 hours at a time with short breaks as required.
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
Work Environment: Frequent lifting of donated materials (i.e. boxes of toys and supplies).
