Project Biologist/Engineer - Permitting and Environmental Assessment

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the implementation of aquatic, terrestrial, vegetation, and/or wildlife projects.
- Oversee the delivery of biological and environmental consulting projects, including restoration, assessment, permitting, and multidisciplinary projects.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, supporting their development and training.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- While primarily office-based, the role may involve fieldwork depending on your expertise—ranging from 0% to 40%.
What You Bring to the Pinchin Team:
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience within environmental consulting and/or regulatory agencies (or equivalent experience).
- A master’s degree, bachelor’s or diploma in fisheries biology/management, biological sciences, wildlife, or water/environmental engineering.
- Registration with the College of Applied Biology as a Registered Professional Biologist, Registered Professional Forester, Professional Engineer, or similar is considered an asset.
- Applied experience in watercourse classification, wetland identification, or wildlife habitat assessment are considered assets.
- Ability to understand, communicate, and navigate solutions for fish and fish habitat, wildlife habitat, wetlands, and streams on client projects.
- Proven ability to safely manage and/or lead field assessments of two to four people in a variety of settings and conditions is considered an asset.
- Experience interpreting permitting and regulatory frameworks considered an asset.
- Proven ability to independently manage projects from both technical and administrative perspectives.
- Strong organizational, technical writing, and review skills in a consulting or regulatory environment (or equivalent).
- Ability to work in Canada.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
