About this opportunity: We are looking for a Drilling/Completions Summer Student for a 4-month term commencing in May 2026.
This position will be based in-person, in our downtown Calgary office. Supervised travel to Field locations in Alberta may be required.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will learn about Drilling &/or Completions within the Oil & Gas industry
- You will be supervised and mentored by a Senior Engineer within the group for your work term
- Specific job functions may include:
- Gathering and compiling information from well files
- Offset review of performance and adjacent wells from other operators within the area Paramount is working
- Assisting senior engineers with building execution programs
- You will be exposed to planning, designing, and how to execute operations within the Drilling and Completions group.
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in your 2 nd , 3 rd or 4 th year of an Engineering or relevant program
- You are currently enrolled at the University of Calgary
- You are able to work effectively in a team environment.
- You are someone who values feedback as a learning tool.
- You are motivated, hard-working and determined to achieve superior results.
- You are focused and have a keen attention to detail.
- Previous oil and gas experience is not required, however it is considered an asset
To be eligible for a Paramount Resources student position, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
- You are available to work the full duration of the work term
- You are currently residing in Calgary or willing to relocate for your work term
- You are legally entitled to work in Canada, without restriction by way of one of the following:
- Canadian Citizenship
- Permanent Residency
- Valid work permit
