The Wellness Institute is a Certified Medical Fitness Facility , making us uniquely equipped to support members across a wide spectrum of fitness levels, health backgrounds, and life stages. Whether someone is brand new to exercise, recovering from injury or illness, managing a chronic condition, or training for their next athletic milestone, we provide the expertise and environment to help them succeed.

Adults of all ages and abilities come to the Wellness Institute to improve and maintain their overall health and well-being. Through personalized fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle programs, we work to prevent illness, improve quality of life, and support positive long-term health outcomes for our members and guests.

We are currently recruiting a high-energy, motivated, and passionate Certified Personal Trainer to join our team. Our trainers deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality fitness programming that reflects our clinical standards, inclusive environment, and evidence-based approach to wellness. This is a contract position offering the flexibility to build your own schedule and take on as many clients as you choose . Position Overview As a Certified Personal Trainer, you will collaborate with the Manager of Health & Fitness and the broader interdisciplinary team to meet the personal training needs of Wellness Institute members and guests. You will play a key role in helping individuals set realistic goals, build confidence, and progress safely through individualized training programs.

Experience

  • Two to five years of experience in as a personal trainer working with individuals with varying needs and fitness levels.
  • Experience creating, designing, and implementing detailed exercise programs to a variety of clients

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Performance, Exercise Science or Equivalent
  • Training in health behaviour and lifestyle change, particularly from a self-management approach

CERTIFICATION

  • Preferred certifications: CSEP-CEP or equivalent such as ACSM-CEP
  • Required Certification: CSEP-CPT, NSCA-CSCS or equivalent certifications are required.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is required, prior to hire, for this position.

Qualifications

  • Excellent time management strengths; able to schedule and coordinate client sessions to ensure orderly, timely accurate completion of program requirements and ensure completion of client records.
  • Easy, approachable personal manner with solid communication and interpersonal skills for effective client contact whether in person, by phone or other electronic technology.
  • Provides clientele with the knowledge, motivation and coaching to achieve their personal fitness goals.
  • Conduct personal training consultations with new or existing members and guests
  • Be accountable to Manager of Health & Fitness for meetings and marketing opportunities.

HOURS OF WORK

Days, evening and weekend hours are available.

WAGE

Revenue share to be determined upon hire
