About the role

Assistant Category Leader - Merchandising

Are you forward-thinking and always looking to establish better systems and processes?

As an assistant demand planner, you will support the Category Leader in implementing the company vision and category objectives through execution of Best Buy’s retail processes. You’ll manage daily tasks to accomplish the business and financial goals set forth. You’ll partner with other members of the organization including Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Ecommerce, Store Design and Finance to execute the category’s merchandising plans.

In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage business performance by utilizing the BPM weekly report, meeting with team members on a weekly basis to discuss performance diagnosis, maintaining and monitoring class/sub-class action plans, executing and updating action items, and communicating business diagnosis and action plans to the Category Leader
  • Develop and strengthen supplier relations through daily interactions that align with organizational goals while assisting the Category Leader in defining value targets for sourcing arrangements within the category
  • Work closely with out Digital Retail team in ensuring we are maximizing opportunities in the digital space
  • Communicate between internal (corporate departments and team members) and external audiences (stores) while assisting the Space Management group by reviewing the store planograms and providing input as needed
  • Support the Visual Merchandising group by reviewing signage, end caps, strike zones and other visual components used in the stores

What we’re looking for:

  • 2-4 years of experience with retail buying/inventory/planning, ideally in the consumer electronics industry
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management preferred

Annualized Compensation Range

$58,000.00 - $64,000.00

This job is eligible for a company performance bonus in addition to the compensation range above.

Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
