About the job

What will your main responsibilities look like at SOVRA?

In this role, you will be led to:

  • Be a key player for all aspects of Cloud platforms and solutions projects, including solution creation through requirements analysis, design, implementation, and deployment;
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, maintain the availability, reliability, security and performance of development and production environments and its customers;
  • Keep abreast of the latest industry standards and emerging technologies;
  • Engage with members of the Product, Services, and Cloud Ops teams to understand our key needs around development efficiency and automation, as well as platform deployment and management;
  • Build and manage tools for developer support, and automated software delivery and testing;
  • Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines;
  • Research new DevOps tools and techniques as appropriate, staying current with industry best practices;
  • Use DevOps principles to influence and create new architecture standards and best-practices that improve the way our customers/partners create and manage solutions on our platform;
  • Build and maintain internal documentation on properly deploying our platform, and building/managing solutions on our platform;
  • Work with business teams to establish required service levels and the business criteria required to meet them;
  • Provide level 3 support services for entire AWS Cloud ecosystem; Be available for technical support (24/7) in an on call rotation.

What elements of your professional background will be necessary and useful in this role?

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of IT experience in solution or project architecture;
  • You have 3 years or more of the following:
    • Experience with EC2, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform technology;
    • Production experience with Serverless Environment (e.g., Paas, Kubernetes);
    • Experience building and maintaining Continuous Integration systems;
    • Experience in using PostgreSQL or SQL databases;
  • Familiar with latest DevOps methodologies and best practices;
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and AWS platforms, and related development environments.
  • Experience in Linux systems administration;
  • Experience in Shell and/or Bash and/or Python scripting; At least 3+ years experience of on call technical support.
