Position Summary

Join Holland Bloorview as a  Psychologist supporting three dynamic ambulatory services - Neuromotor, Spina Bifida and Spinal Cord, and Neuromuscular - where you'll make a meaningful impact on children and youth with disabilities and complex needs. You'll collaborate with dedicated interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care that supports and empowers clients and families towards their personalized goals. This is a  regular full-time (1.0 FTE)  position in Salary Band I ($58.60 - $73.24/hr).

Key Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with clients/families and the interdisciplinary team, provides client- and family-centered care which is goal oriented, evidence-based and outcome-oriented
  • Primary focus is on assessment of children, consultation and education to client and family with a focus on maximizing strength
  • Provides individual or group intervention to help with supporting development of client life skills and coping
  • Works with client and family to set goals that are targeted, with measurable outcomes
  • Contributes to the development of program/service activities
  • Bases practice on established Holland Bloorview policies, procedures, evidence and best practice
  • Works with members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to service
  • Utilizes critical thinking/reasoning and research to establish and support evidence-based practice
  • Provides education, both formal and informal, to clients/families, colleagues, students and others within the organization and the community
  • Participates in the supervision of students and residents
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, supports the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment and advances a culture of client/patient safety through work and daily practices
  • Some evening & weekend work may be required

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • Current Registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) required with declared competencies in Clinical Psychology with children
  • Previous job-related experience working with children and families required
  • Previous job-related experience working with clients with autism and developmental disabilities is preferred
  • ADOS reliability is considered an asset
  • Declared competency in school psychology considered an asset
  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary team preferred
