About the role

Job Description AltaGas - Sr Advisor, HR Ops & Strategy (Chief of Staff to CHRO) We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic, Senior Advisor to join our HR team and play a key role in driving operational excellence across the HR function. This role partners closely with the CHRO and HR leadership team and the CAO to execute enterprise-wide initiatives, manage governance and planning cycles, and ensure HR programs are aligned with broader business goals.

As a trusted advisor and operational leader, you’ll oversee strategic planning, cross-functional project management, financial oversight, and executive-level communications. You’ll help shape the future of HR by supporting transformation efforts, optimizing processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with the CHRO to implement HR strategy and monitor progress on key initiatives
  • Lead coordination of HR strategic plans, scorecards, and performance metrics
  • Manage HR governance activities, including HRCC and Board reporting
  • Prepare executive-level materials and advise on strategic priorities
  • Oversee HR budget planning, forecasting, and financial performance tracking
  • Drive operational excellence through planning cycles, process improvements, and internal communications
  • Lead cross-functional HR projects, ensuring alignment, timely delivery, and stakeholder engagement
  • Foster collaboration across HR, Finance, IT, and other departments to ensure strategic alignment

You Have:

  • 7–10 years of experience in HR, strategy, business operations, or project management
  • Experience supporting senior executives or working in a strategic HR capacity
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and reporting
  • Familiarity with HR systems, analytics, and reporting tools
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and influence senior leaders
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and drive results through data and insights
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and emotional intelligence
