The Opportunity:
For our Arborg, MANITOBA facility, we are seeking a:
CNC Machine Operator (Press Brake and Panel Bender) Afternoon Shift (Monday-Thursday 2pm-12 am)
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to bend and form materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling for each job.
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and precision of parts.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Mathematical ability: able to perform basic calculations (fractions, decimals, angles, and measurements) required for machine setup and quality checks.
- Education/Training: post-secondary education or coursework in CNC, CAD/CAM, or a related technical field is considered an asset but not required; equivalent hands-on experience is valued.
- Problem-solving skills: able to troubleshoot machine errors, adjust setups, and identify production issues with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail: ensures precise bends, measurements, and tolerances to meet engineering and customer specifications.
- Accountability and dependability: demonstrates reliability by maintaining consistent attendance, meeting deadlines, and producing quality work.
- Teamwork: works effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments to support production goals.
- Communication skills: able to clearly read, interpret, and document work instructions; communicates effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Industry experience: prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred, particularly in metalworking, CNC operation, or press brake operation.
