The Role:
Neo Financial is looking for an Intermediate React Native Developer to join our mobile development team in Calgary.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with a team of talented engineers to build and scale world-class mobile experiences for our growing base of customers. You’ll be working primarily with React Native, delivering polished, performant, and intuitive interfaces across both iOS and Android platforms. Our mobile stack is built using React Native, TypeScript, Expo, GraphQL, and native modules where needed.
You'll follow agile best practices, contribute to continuous integration and testing strategies, and help shape the future of Neo’s mobile platform. We also embrace AI-assisted development with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and internally developed AI agents to enhance developer velocity and code quality.
What you'll be doing:
- Write clean, performant, and maintainable code in React Native and TypeScript for iOS and Android apps
- Build reusable mobile components and features that interact with our GraphQL APIs
- Work collaboratively with designers and backend developers to deliver seamless, consistent experiences
- Participate in code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and maintain high standards for code quality
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for mobile features
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks across platforms
- Contribute to decisions around native module integration when React Native falls short
- Continuously improve our mobile architecture and development workflow
Who we are looking for:
- Proficient in React Native and TypeScript, with experience shipping mobile apps to production
- Understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices, platform conventions, and device-specific nuances
- Experience with Expo, or willingness to dive deep into native code when required (Java/Kotlin, Swift/Objective-C)
- Familiarity with GraphQL, state management tools (e.g. Zustand, Redux, Recoil), and testing libraries like Jest or Detox
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile, and tools like EAS, Fastlane, or Bitrise is a plus
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and learning new tools, languages, and frameworks as needed
- Previous experience with AI-powered dev tools is a bonus — curiosity and experimentation are strongly encouraged
**Must be eligible to work in Canada and willing to relocate to Calgary**
