The Company This successful and reputable firm and home builder in Calgary have been developing high end homes across Alberta for many years and produce excellent homes across the province. They are currently looking to add a talented Intermediate or Senior Architectural Technologist / Drafter to their dedicated team. This company is known for their commitment to excellence and strong service delivery to their clients.
THE ROLE The Responsibilities Of This Role Include
- Review existing sets of drawings and plans and make modifications and edits where necessary
- Perform site inspections of new designs
- Complete sets of drawings, architectural site plans, elevations, foundations, floor plan, sections and details
- Applying for, monitoring and processing architectural approvals and building permits
- Submitting for Architectural Approval and making any necessary changes that may arise upon that review
- Assist project managers and projects teams with pre-qualification & tender submission packages
- Be involved in coordination of drawings with all consultants
- Ensure drawing files & folders are kept up-to-date and organized for easy retrieval.
- Taking care of lot inspections as required for architectural approvals
- Provide ongoing suggestions for improvement, coinciding with continual learning and industry knowledge
- Work collaboratively with teams and subconsultants
?WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Educational background in Drafting or Architectural Technology
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the residential construction industry or in an architecture firm producing high end homes
- Capable with both AutoCAD and Revit is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Ongoing learning of overall industry, including building materials, construction methods & standards
- Knowledge of building code an asset
