About The Role We are seeking a skilled Application Specialist to join our dynamic team in Ville de Québec, Québec. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing hydraulic and pneumatic systems tailored to customer needs. Your expertise will be crucial in defining technical specifications, preparing detailed schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, excellent communication skills in both French and English, and a passion for innovative engineering solutions.

Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates should have between 3 to 4 years of experience in hydraulic and pneumatic domains or possess a BSE or BEng degree in engineering related to these fields. Alternatively, candidates with five years of relevant experience in hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems are also eligible. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client sites as needed are required. Proficiency in both written and spoken French and English is essential for effective communication with clients and team members. Technical skills should include experience with AutoCAD, knowledge of 3D design software such as SolidWorks (considered an asset), and a good understanding of computer systems. Intermediate proficiency in Excel is necessary, and experience in project management and PLC programming or electrical design systems will be advantageous.

Responsibilities The Application Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of technical and collaborative tasks, including:

  • Meeting with customers to understand and define their hydraulic and pneumatic system needs.
  • Designing hydraulic power units and pneumatic systems to meet specified requirements.
  • Selecting appropriate system components and preparing requisitions for procurement.
  • Generating detailed hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and comprehensive technical documentation in both English and French.
  • Conducting calculations to determine system capacity and ensure optimal performance.
  • Preparing detailed quotes, project cost estimates, and technical proposals for clients in both languages.
  • Collaborating with team members to refine design concepts and foster a culture of continuous innovation.
  • Participating in project planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Providing technical assistance during the production and installation phases when necessary.
  • Acting as the technical authority during proposal and quote development, working closely with Sales Managers and representatives.
  • Engaging with manufacturing, procurement, and service teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Establishing and maintaining rigorous procedures and checklists to uphold engineering standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Identifying and resolving technical problems efficiently, reporting delays or issues promptly.
