About the role

We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Analyst with experience in software testing to join our Winnipeg, Head Office (hybrid).

In collaboration with internal and external developers and project leads, you will play an instrumental role in the software development life cycle through the testing strategies, plans and scenarios, and analyzing the business and functional requirements. This role is specifically focused on delivering high quality integration with API/Service software applications.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Create, modify and execute manual testing throughout the testing cycle
  • Create and execute test cases/suites and document processes and procedures
  • Perform integration and regression testing on services and applications. Facilitate and support user acceptance testing and product demos to end-users and product owners
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies and advocate for agile and QA best practices
  • Review software specifications and user requirements
  • Establish strong relationships with team members within Application Delivery team and external partners.
  • Review and analyze test results; submit, track, and validate root-cause analysis for defects
  • Maintain test systems in a Linux environment, including backup and restore, troubleshooting system connectivity issues, maintaining system data set, and assisting other testers when accessing integration services
  • Create and maintain department testing environment, data and documentation
  • Maintain proper versioning, build management, and installations in the QA environment
  • Become a software business process expert through gaining knowledge, staying abreast of technology trends, security, and using best practices

Qualification and Competencies

  • Post-secondary education in Computer science, engineering, or relevant software or business discipline

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in all aspects of Quality Assurance and testing disciplines, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered

  • Excellent organization skills including management of multiple assignments, setting personal goals and targets and document management

  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on attention to detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with the web services stack and service transport is considered an asset

  • Working knowledge of a combination of any of the following technologies is considered an asset: JIRA, SQL, SOAP, XML, TIBCO Enterprise Surface Bus software, Linux/Unix

  • Familiarity working in Agile methodology is an asset

  • Familiarity with Test Management tools like ZephyrScale or Xray is an asset
