This is a new vacancy.

This position requires the individual to be on-site full-time.

Evening Shift: 3:30 pm to 11:45 pm

What You’ll Do

You’ll act with integrity to:

  • Supervise Housekeeping operations for the Legislative Precinct and determine cleaning routines, priorities, and schedules.

  • Actively manage the repair and maintenance program for all housekeeping equipment and machinery, ensuring appropriate replacement, planning, and budgeting in collaboration with the Supervisor, Facility Operations (daytime).

  • Manage and administer all aspects of assigned external vendor contracts, such as window cleaning, removal of waste and recyclable materials, drapery, upholstery and carpet cleaning, floor mat rental services, laundry services, and pest control in collaboration with the Supervisor, Facility Operations (daytime).

  • Ensure that work is executed per contract requirements and reviews corresponding invoices.

  • Manage the Repair and Maintenance program for all department equipment, ensuring appropriate replacement planning and budgeting in collaboration with the Supervisor, Facility Operations (daytime).

  • Be responsible for the work performance of all assigned direct reports; plan and implement staff training and development; hire staff, provide feedback, conduct performance appraisals, manage performance issues, and implement disciplinary measures.

  • Complete routine quality control audits and inspections throughout the Legislative Precinct to ensure the highest level of operational standards are maintained.

You’ll support our collaboration as you:

  • Act as a liaison between capital project staff and external contractors who are conducting work in the building after hours where required and assists with managing issues that may arise.
  • Work collaboratively across the branch and with various external contractors in the coordination and execution of events, planned projects and budget forecasting.
  • Provide back-up coverage for Supervisor, Facility Operations (daytime) colleague where in certain instances as required to ensure continuity of services.
  • Provides, as required, weekend and evening coverage to support Legislative Assembly activities, events and staffing needs.

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:

  • Completed college education or equivalent facility management certificate, and at minimum 5 years of work-related experience to plan, schedule, coordinate ,and supervise the delivery of Housekeeping, equipment repairs and pest control
  • Required knowledge of general administration and the Legislative Assembly’s policies, practice,s and procedures pertaining to Building Operations, including Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training and familiarity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), along with knowledge of building services areas and timing associated with House sittings and special events or other activities.
  • Required knowledge of inventory control management, knowledge of industrial cleaning practices, equipment, and products.
  • Leadership, problem-solving solving and organizational skills to direct and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping and moving, and set-up teams.
