The Revenue Client Services & Compliance Branch of the Ministry of Finance is responsible for the administration of several provincial tax statutes and programs. This is done through a variety of activities, including responding to client inquiries, maintaining client accounts, revenue processing, issuing refunds, education, and enforcement. The Revenue Client Services & Compliance Branch is committed to the Government of Saskatchewan’s core values of Respect and Integrity, Serving Citizens, Excellence and Innovation, and One Team.
We are currently seeking motivated, detail-oriented and conscientious individuals for the challenging position of Financial Service Representative.
As the successful candidate, you will be client service-focused and have experience working in a dynamic team environment to respond to inquiries and service requests through a variety of channels and methods. You will provide service to provincial and extra-provincial businesses and individuals operating in Saskatchewan related to the Provincial consumption tax programs in the areas of:
- Tier one tax inquiry services through a Canada-wide toll-free call center;
- Program registration, licensing and maintaining the provincial tax roll for account closures, demographic account changes and returned mail;
- Financial account maintenance, including calculations of tax, account adjustments, penalty and interest waivers, and refunds;
- Revenue deposit and reconciliation to other Government of Saskatchewan accounting and payment systems;
- Client support for the online client self-service portal, Saskatchewan e-Tax Services (SETS); and
- Assist in other areas as required when the need arises.
The successful candidate will be able to accurately reference, interpret and appropriately apply acts, regulations, policies and guidelines to daily operations. You will also be able to verbally and in writing, clearly, accurately and courteously explain complex issues, policies, procedures, legislation and other information to clients and co-workers. You will have the ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and legislation; input, edit, update, retrieve, maintain, format and transmit data, create and generate queries, reports and documents; and utilize word processing, databases, spreadsheets, communications and other software packages with speed and accuracy. You will also independently organize and prioritize multiple tasks, taking into consideration changing priorities and deadlines. You will be able to interact diplomatically to identify and assess problems, explore options and implement appropriate solutions when encountering difficult, angry or confrontational clients, co-workers and/or vendors. You will also be able to work independently, as well as participate as one of a team of Client Service Representatives to meet the goals and expectations of the work unit.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of client service best practices, provincial tax acts and regulations, office procedures and various types of office equipment.
