SUMMARY: The position of R & D Project Coordinator is to contribute to the daily activities of the R & D Team. The R&D team works in an innovative atmosphere, with a friendly and professional attitude. The candidate must be willing to work in a constantly shifting schedule while learning, understanding, and applying a wide variety of technologies and engineering theory. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at a time is a requirement. Training would be provided in all areas. There will be eventual responsibilities to coordinate multiple long term innovation projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical Analyses – Mold filling analyses, structural and thermal FEA (finite element analysis), hot runner pressure analyses, failure analyses.
- Research – Technology investigations, evaluations, and report generation.
- Development – Execution of experiments and projects to aid in development of new mold designs.
- Project Management – Management of small projects from: project scoping, business case write up, coordination of design, test and launch.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors of Engineering Degree (mechanical) or equivalent
- 2D and 3D CAD experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Practical knowledge of mechanical designs, manufacturing processes and specifically injection molding is an asset.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly.
