Location: 8 Moore Road, Dartmouth, NS

Position Type: Permanent Full-Time

Reporting To: Route Supervisor

Start Date: Immediately

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am start

Compensation: $22.06 - $24.28 per hour

Summary:
The Cube Van Driver role involves safely operating residential cube trucks to complete scheduled collections and deliveries of items such as white goods, electronics, mattresses, and bulky furniture. The position requires strong teamwork, navigation, communication, and customer service skills, strict adherence to safety and occupational health standards, and the ability to perform physically demanding work. Candidates must hold a valid Class 5 or Class 3 licence, demonstrate safe work habits, maintain schedule flexibility, and have an excellent attendance record.

Responsibilities:
As a Cube Van Driver, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Safely operate residential cube van trucks.
  • Ensure pick-up and delivery schedules are met as assigned.
  • Assist with curbside collection when required, including operating of both one and two person trucks.
  • Deliver customer service in accordance with contractual requirements and service schedules.
  • Must be able to safely push and pull items of various sizes and weights, and perform tasks such as unlocking and locking containers and enclosures/rooms.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Meet or exceed performance expectations through proven results.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Class 5 or Class 3 Driver’s Licence.
  • Clean driver’s abstract with no preventable accidents in the past year.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule is necessary as start and end times may vary. Statutory Holidays and weekends will be required at times.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must maintain a strong attendance and performance record.
