Senior Accounting Analyst

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting and Policy, the Senior Accounting Analyst provides support to the Company’s operating sites and development projects related to accounting and financial reporting matters. In addition, this position plays a key role in the timely and accurate preparation of the Company’s quarterly financial reports, as well as the continued improvement and standardization of the Financial Reporting team’s processes. The successful candidate is a self-starter and flexible, has a high level of integrity, is action- and goal-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review operating site monthly financial packages to ensure compliance with IFRS, including the accounting for stockpiles and leach pad inventory, reclamation obligations, and impairment assessments. Perform variance analysis to assess performance and assist in decision-making. Assist site finance teams with accounting issues and questions. Support the preparation of the site cash flow statement. Participate in the preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual financial reports under International Financial Reporting Standards and in accordance with regulatory standards. Support the monthly financial close process and the monthly consolidation process through the preparation or review of supporting workbooks and journal entries to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting. Interface with the Corporate Accounting Team to support the consolidation process. Research, analyze, and recommend the proper application of accounting standards for complex accounting issues. Prepare or review related accounting position papers and work cooperatively with regional, site, and corporate teams to ensure recommendations are appropriately implemented. Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures and related accounting processes, with a primary focus on operational areas, including preparing process documentation. Support the continuous improvement of financial reporting by utilizing the OneStream consolidation platform to refine existing processes or develop new processes that improve quality and timeliness of reporting. Liaise with external and internal auditors, providing them with required analyses and responding to their queries. Ensure compliance with internal controls in a SOX environment. Support the preparation of the Company’s ESTMA and ESG reporting. Participate in ad hoc finance-related projects, such as accounting process improvements, finance automation initiatives, system implementations, and financial analysis.
Required Experience And Skill Set
5+ years of experience, preferably with a high-growth, multi-jurisdictional public company or a Big 4 accounting firm. Comprehensive understanding of IFRS, financial analysis, and public company reporting requirements. Solid knowledge of internal control requirements relating to financial reporting and familiarity with planning and budgeting processes and management reporting. Excellent analytical and written and verbal communication skills. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP desirable. Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build partnerships across the organization. Attention to detail, with ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated commitment to best practices and operational excellence. Mining experience is preferred, although heavy equipment manufacturing, industrial experience is also desirable. Spanish language skills are considered a strong asset for this role.

The salary range for this position is from $95,700.00 to $119,600.00.
