Your Opportunity
Stantec's River Services Team delivers stream restoration, geomorphological
assessment, watershed studies, environmental assessments, and floodplain analysis across Ontario and Canada. Working alongside specialists in ecology, landscape architecture, hydrogeology, and engineering, we help our clients develop resilient, practical, and sustainable solutions for natural watercourse systems.
We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer or Senior Fluvial
Geomorphologist to join our Waterloo, ON team (hybrid and remote arrangements may be considered). This role is ideal for someone passionate about natural systems, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is motivated to develop both projects and people.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a senior member of the River Services team, you will provide technical
leadership on river restoration, fluvial geomorphology, watershed, and water resources projects from planning through implementation. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentor developing professionals, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the continued growth and advancement of Stantec's River Services practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and provide quality reviews for technical assessments, technical reporting, modelling, and detailed design of stream restoration, river engineering, floodplain management, and watershed projects for public and private sector clients.
- Mentor developing professionals by sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback, and supporting career growth.
- Apply creativity, critical thinking, and professional judgment to solve complex technical challenges.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment where diverse perspectives are valued.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Provide leadership and accountability for the successful delivery of projects.
- Lead and contribute to proposal development, build trusted client relationships, and help grow the River Services practice.
- Provide senior-level support during construction and implementation of River Services projects.
- Advance technical practice through innovation, thought leadership, and the development of industry best practices.
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are
provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20
