Upstream Data Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team in Lloydminster, AB. If you are a technically inclined professional with expertise in precision machining and a commitment to quality, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
As a Machinist, you will be crucial in creating high-quality, precision parts using a variety of machine tools. Your primary duties will include:
- Precision Machining: Setting up, operating, and maintaining a diverse range of machine tools, including conventional lathes, milling machines, and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Studying and interpreting complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine production processes, tolerances, and material requirements.
- Setup and Programming: Executing equipment setup and programming for CNC machinery to ensure optimal operation and quality production.
- Quality Assurance: Utilizing precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to verify the dimensions of machined parts, ensuring strict conformance to specifications and established tolerance criteria.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Performing required preventative maintenance, detecting equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and making necessary adjustments within your capabilities.
- Assembly: Fitting and assembling machined metal components and subassemblies to industry standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhering to all relevant industry safe work practices, company policies, and provincial/federal safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma required.
- Proven Technical Aptitude and mechanical skill.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as it relates to the job.

- Adaptability to frequent changes in the work environment and competing demands.
- Maintain current safety tickets for any required field work.
Physical & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity is essential.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Comfortable working in a frequently noisy environment.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and steel toe boots.
