Job Description

Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Produce Manager oversees operations and staffing for the produce department and ensures quality and freshness of all produce. Reports to the Market Manager.

  • Organizes and directs the store’s produce department to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s mission, values, quality and guest experience standards and policies

  • Manages the produce team: hires, schedules, trains, motivates, submits payroll, performance evaluation in collaboration with the HR department

  • Ensures produce counters and displays are visually appealing and merchandized effectively

  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, display and sale of all products in accordance to company quality and merchandising standards

  • Ensures excellent customer service is provided at all times

  • Analyzes financial data, develops and implements strategies and process improvements to drive sales and increase profitability and efficiencies

  • Ensures proper inventory management is implemented and maintained

  • Manage product storage and rotation activities to reduce wastage and damages

  • Works closely with the culinary and kitchen team to ensure that production consistently meets the store’s needs for retail, quick service and restaurants

  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of storage and counters according to Company’s standards, and arranges, upon cost approval, repairs, contracts and other services when needed

  • Documents, investigates, escalates and resolves employee and guest incidents in collaboration with HR department

  • Manages and acts as point of contact for any third-party vendors and ensures compliance with Eataly’s standards and policies, and provides proper communication flow between management teams

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety, OHSA, and other regulatory requirements

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment as per Company requirements

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Business management and financial analysis skills
  • Experience purchasing and managing inventory
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

  • Ability to operate equipment such as a slicer, pasta machine or cash register as needed
