Duties:

Assist the faculty member with:
– Assessment of recorded technique submissions and recorded ensemble excerpts from students
– Assessment of recorded ensemble parts, submitted by students
– Coaching sections of clarinet choir and arranging repertoire for clarinet ensemble
– Helping students in between lessons with issues around clarinet performance practice, skill building, technique
development, and equipment
– Assist with BU Clarinet Festival organization
– Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

– Must have an undergraduate degree in Music with applied studies in clarinet; preference to clarinet performance degree.
– Must have studies clarinet pedagogy and clarinet literature
– Enrolment in graduate program or holding a graduate degree
– Must have some prior experience teaching clarinet in either one-on-one or group settings.
– Must be familiar with distance technology (preference in zoom) and audio/visual set-ups for online teaching and recording.
– Preference (strong) for a student enrolled in a Master of Music program in clarinet performance or clarinet pedadogy.
