Role Description The Litigation Legal Assistant is a full-time permanent on-site role based in Calgary, AB, supporting lawyers primarily in litigation matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, formatting, and revising legal documents and correspondence, organizing files, and maintaining accurate case records. The role involves managing calendars, scheduling court appearances and client meetings, and coordinating deadlines. The Legal Assistant will liaise with clients, courts, and other parties, assist with document filing and service, and handle general administrative tasks to ensure efficient file progression.

Qualifications Strong foundation in law and litigation procedures, with an understanding of court rules and legal terminology. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, editing, and formatting pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence. Demonstrated experience providing legal assistance, including file management, client communication, and coordination with external parties. Solid administrative assistance and calendaring skills, including scheduling, deadline tracking, and task prioritization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB, and manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment. Competence with legal practice management software and standard office applications. Diploma, certificate, or post-secondary education in legal assistant/paralegal studies, or equivalent experience in a law firm setting.
