An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to fill the role of Lived Experience Lead, focusing on improving services for people who experience multiple disadvantages. This role will involve working closely with stakeholders to ensure Lived Experience is embedded within the Essex Phoenix Futures services to support our ambition in being a leading, innovator of lived experience across Essex.
Futures Together is a commissioned service combining the expertise of two Essex Phoenix Futures services – the Criminal Justice service and the Social Inclusion service. Our team is committed to providing support and social inclusion opportunities for people who use our services, and across Essex to make a positive impact.
As Lived Experience Lead you will be responsible for working in collaboration with all the Essex Phoenix Futures services to promote initiatives for co-production, lived experience agendas, and discussing opportunities to support each service amongst the peer mentors/volunteers within Essex.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative activities and groups that complement our existing social inclusion initiatives, along with recruiting, training, and managing volunteers and peer mentors. You will collaborate closely with local communities, establishing relationships and supporting individuals to engage with the Futures Together team.
The role offers a work schedule of 37.5 hours per week, allowing for autonomy and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support. We are seeking a motivated and community focused individual who is enthusiastic about social inclusion and committed to supporting others.

Role Purpose
- To support and develop our peer mentor, volunteers, and lead on implementing recovery, and wellbeing focussed activities within an allocated locality of Essex.
- Establish, develop, and maintain strong and effective partnerships within the community to promote and embed the Futures Together service.
- To work in collaboration with the criminal justice element of the Futures Together service to support people with complex and multiple needs.
- Innovate, implement, and facilitate recovery, social inclusion, and meaningful co-production.
- To complete administrative tasks, including database maintenance, maintenance of accurate client’s information.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced service and be flexible to changes plans at short notice.
Your Rewards
- Starting salary of £24,750 per annum with the opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal.
- 25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays pro-rata, (increasing each year to a maximum of 30 days)
