Position Summary
This position provides essential technical support to both instructors and students enrolled in the Cosmetology program. The support covers critical areas of the hairstyling trade, including: current color applications, color theory, basic hair cutting, perming and styling techniques, and other specialized program aspects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

supervising, guiding, and assisting students with clients and projects during practical sessions
-
following up on teacher demonstrations and reviewing core hairstyling skills with students to reinforce learning
-
preparing the teaching lab, including setting up mannequin sets, materials for demonstrations, products for lectures, and necessary equipment
-
anticipating and preparing materials for upcoming classes to ensure instructional continuity
-
maintaining the lab area, ensuring it remains neat, clean, and professional; supervise students during general cleanup procedures
-
performing practical demonstrations of hairstyling techniques as required
-
assisting instructors in the practical assessment of student progress and skill development
-
managing the inventory and ordering of all supplies and products, checking with teachers regarding major expenditures and obtaining quotes

assisting with cash-out procedures related to customer service transactions within the program
Education/Qualifications
-
Journeyperson Trade Certificate in the hairstyling/cosmetology trade
-
a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in the cosmetology industry
-
demonstrated recent industry experience and participation in recent industry education/classes
-
strong knowledge of current color applications, color theory, basic hair cutting, perming, and styling techniques.

Rate of Pay
$27.30 - $31.79 per hour
