Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The Park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.
Job Overview:
The Digital Engagement Specialist is responsible for executing and optimizing Heritage Park’s digital presence across web, social, and paid platforms. The position combines website management, digital content creation, D campaign execution, data analysis, and customer research to enhance visibility, drive revenue, and improve the visitor experience.
Responsibilities:
Digital Content & Platform Management
- Maintain and update Heritage Park’s website using a custom CMS, ensuring content is timely, accurate, and engaging.
- Write, edit, and optimize web and digital content across platforms, ensuring alignment with brand standards and SEO best practices.
- Oversee social media content development and community engagement to support campaigns, events, and seasonal priorities.
- Manage the Showpass ticketing system, including content integration and promotional strategies tied to ticket and membership sales.
- Create and manage content for digital signage, ensuring messaging consistency across channels.
Digital Campaigns & Engagement Strategy
- Plan and execute paid digital marketing campaigns in collaboration with agency partners and internal content specialists.
- Drive SEO and SEM strategies, including keyword generation, ad content creation, and performance optimization.
- Lead membership pricing strategy, including modeling and campaign rollout, to support growth targets and market responsiveness.
- Support campaign execution for special events and seasonal programs, ensuring alignment with sales and visitor engagement goals.
Data & Insights for Decision-Making
- Monitor and analyze web traffic, digital marketing performance, and conversion data using analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Create and deliver regular reports with actionable insights to improve digital performance, campaign ROI, and visitor engagement.
- Lead the design, deployment, and analysis of customer satisfaction surveys to assess guest experience and guide strategy.
- Conduct in-depth research on visitor satisfaction trends and pain points, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to identify areas for improvement across the guest journey.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align reporting and analysis with sales targets and organizational goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Innovation
- Work closely with marketing, programming, guest services, and sales teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and digital alignment across all platforms.
- Act as a digital subject matter expert, identifying opportunities for innovation and user experience improvements.
- Stay current on digital trends, tools, and technologies to ensure Heritage Park remains competitive in the online space.
- Support internal teams with campaign performance insights, helping adjust strategy based on real-time metrics and feedback.

- Contribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with our mission and vision, ensuring authenticity in our historical setting and stories.

Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years prior experience with content strategy, marketing or related role is required. Proven experience in content strategy, content marketing, or a related role.
- Strong working knowledge of CMS tools, SEO/SEM, Google Ads, and social media platforms.
- Proficient in digital analytics and reporting; Google Analytics Certification is required, Meta Certification is considered an asset.
- Experience in a not-for-profit environment would be considered an asset
- Medium to advanced level proficiency to utilize relevant technologies such as Asana, Office 365, Social Media sites, Adobe Acrobat and CMS (content management systems) like WordPress. Familiarity with AI marketing tools will be an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail are imperative
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills for effective engagement with clients, team members, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-faced setting
- All successful candidates (over the age of 18) will be required to go through Police Information Check as a condition of employment.
Special Clothing and Equipment:
- Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park if applicable; and
- Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.
Special Working Conditions:
- The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors; and
- This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods.
Hours of Work:
- The standard hours for this position are 35 hours per week;
- The schedule will generally be five consecutive days per week (Monday to Friday); and
- Occasional holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required

In the summer operating season, from May to October, the Heritage Town Square free zone, Gasoline Alley Museum and the bustling Historical Village are all open.
