We are a multi-disciplinary team comprised of mental health clinicians, a psychologist, family physicians, pediatricians, a psychiatrist, dieticians, and administrative support staff. Our multi-disciplinary team works together to make a positive impact on children, youth, adults, and families on South Vancouver Island. We work collaboratively to provide evidence-based treatment to those throughout the lifespan that are struggling with an eating disorder. We collaborate with community partners in supporting those to access the right service at the right time often partnering with other programs, schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to meet the unique needs of those we service on South Vancouver Island. The Eating Disorder team values diversity, professionalism, on-going professional development, and collaborative planning.
The Role
In this role, as a Dietician you will provide direct clinical services such nutrition care plans, subject matter expertise, consultation to health professionals both internally and externally, and development of evidence informed resource materials for those struggling with an eating disorder. Through consultation, the dietician will build and maintain relationships to support coordinated services and positive outcomes for children, youth, adults, and families. Being a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to individuals and families feeling confident in their ability to move through change and navigate recovery. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a collaborative and passionate team to support youth and families to meet their wellness goals.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, or eligible to obtain membership with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia before accepting an offer of employment.
- One (1) or more years of experience as a registered dietitian in a hospital, primary care, private practice, community, or long-term care setting.
Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:
- Experience providing client-centered nutrition care to children and youth.
- Experience in the use of relevant computer software, including electronic health records, and MS Office.
- One (1) year experience working with children, youth and adults with eating disorders.
- Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
