Responsibilities
- Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, specifically through coordinating review engagements, related disclosures and other client deliverables
- Collaborate with client engagement team on engagement approach and execute on the plan
- Develop and apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
- Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and tax issues, including possible taxable benefits and tax saving measures.
- Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as corporate tax returns, HST returns, payroll memos and related tax slips
- Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
- Manage time appropriately across multiple projects
Qualifications
- 1 – 2 years of current or recent experience completing review engagements in a public accounting environment
- Working towards the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation
- Understanding and knowledge of ASPE and relevant income tax sections
- Experience with Taxprep and CaseWare or similar software is considered an asset
