About the role

Transdev Canada is hiring a Casual Medical Dispatcher for our Paramedical / Non Emergency Medical Transportation division in Calgary.

In 2025, Transdev acquired Calgary based company Aaron Paramedical, a provider of emergency and non emergency medical services, event support, and patient transport. Aaron Paramedical will continue to operate under the brand name Aaron Paramedical.

As a Casual Medical Dispatcher with Aaron Paramedical, you will play a critical role in coordinating the day to day operations of a medical transportation service, helping ensure safe, efficient, and timely service for patients, healthcare partners, and frontline crews. This role requires strong dispatch judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage real time transport needs in a fast paced environment.

Your Role

Plan, organize, and coordinate daily paramedical transportation bookings and dispatch activities. Work with managers on day to day operational planning and trip coverage. Answer incoming calls related to non emergent patient transportation throughout Calgary, Alberta, and out of province as required. Receive, enter, and maintain trip information in dispatch and booking software systems. Organize staffing and crew coverage for patient transports based on service needs, geography, shift availability, and employee skill levels. Monitor all active transports during your shift and make real time dispatch adjustments to maintain safe and efficient service delivery. Act as a liaison between management, paramedical staff, clients, healthcare facilities, and other operational partners. Maintain accurate dispatch records, handover notes, communication logs, and booking details. Support the ongoing maintenance of client information and ensure transport details are current and accurate. Promote compliance with company health and safety policies, dispatch procedures, and service standards. Escalate delays, service issues, incidents, or operational risks in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dispatch environment. Assist with additional administrative and operational duties as required.

Your Profile

Experience in dispatch, logistics, medical transportation, EMS coordination, patient transport, call taking, or a related operational role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure. Strong problem solving skills and sound operational judgment. Comfort using phones, dispatch platforms, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, clients, crews, and management. Experience in healthcare, EMS, paramedical services, or Non Emergency Medical Transportation is a strong asset. Experience with shift planning or scheduling software is an asset. Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and service excellence.

Your Location

This is a casual, on site position based in Calgary, Alberta. Shifts are scheduled based on operational requirements and may include extended in office coverage, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overlapping handoff periods to support a continuous dispatch environment. The role supports transportation operations throughout Calgary, Alberta, and out of province as required.
