Job Description:

Machine Learning Engineer Job Summary Lean Industries develops and delivers comprehensive enterprise software solutions designed to lower the costs and improve the quality of managing consumer and fraud disputes, exceptions and adjustments for electronic payment transactions. A highly-configurable workflow-based solution, the software is used by large international financial institutions and merchant acquiring companies. The Lean software applications are currently used on 3 continents and we are expecting to add a 4th continent next year.

Lean is growing rapidly and we seek self-motivated individuals to assist us with software product development efforts.

Job Description Machine Learning Engineers at Lean support the development of intelligent automation features within our AdjustmentHub and NetworkHub product sets. You will work closely with developers and business analyst to build and refine predictive models that improve dispute resolution workflows.

This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to apply machine learning in a real-world enterprise software environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and testing of machine learning models for dispute outcome prediction.
  • Help prepare and clean datasets for training and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate ML models into production systems.
  • Participate in model performance tracking and reporting.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.

Tech Stack

  • Python, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Azure ML / AWS Sagemaker
  • SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Kubernetes/Docker for deployment
  • Git (BitBucket), Bamboo, SonarQube for DevOps

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Python and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Exposure to data analysis and model development through coursework or internships.
  • Well organized with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and services-based architectures.
  • Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Interest or background in retail banking, card issuing, merchant acquiring, or electronic payments.
  • Ability to travel globally (including possession of a valid passport); manage travel itineraries and travel expenses until reimbursed.

Education University degree in technical subjects such as computer science, software engineering, or data science. Candidates with college degrees will be considered if they have sufficient experience.

Minimum of two references must be supplied. Background check required.
