About the role
This role has an on-site work arrangement. This means you’ll work primarily from our corporate office at Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary with some remote flexibility.
As ATB’s next Corporate Development Analyst**,** you will be a key member of the Corporate Development team responsible for a wide variety of strategic initiatives, including supporting the development, evaluation and execution of strategic investments, acquisitions and divestitures. You will also assist in the management of a portfolio of Venture Capital Fund interests, Private Equity Fund interests, and direct investments, including quarterly valuation, reporting, issues management and ongoing risk monitoring.

Accountabilities
ATB’s Corporate Development team reports into ATB’s Head of Strategy and works closely with senior leadership across the bank to help deliver on ATB’s Strategic Plan. For this important and high exposure role, we are looking for an energetic candidate, who has a strong mix of strategic thinking and deal execution capabilities.
- Support strategic work in the development of acquisition and investment targets for ATB
- Support analysis of potential acquisition, investment and divestiture opportunities for strategic fit and value case
- Assist in coordination of the due diligence process for both acquisitions and investments in close collaboration with internal partners
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, prepare potential target assessments and related initiatives, while working closely with business and strategy groups
- Assist in the ongoing monitoring/management of a portfolio of investment assets including performance/financial analysis, valuation and risk assessment/mitigation
- Maintain good knowledge of business lines within ATB
- Provide support as required on other strategic initiatives and Bank projects
Skills, experience & requirements
- Honours-level University degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Math or similar field
- 1-2 years experience in financial modeling, valuation and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) or Private Equity
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience with presenting material to executive level audiences
- Good understanding of the financial services sector and ability to conduct research and analysis work across various lines of banking businesses
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Growth mindset and personal drive to succeed
