About the job
In this role, you will:
- Represent Vanier as the first point of contact: Manage a multi-line switchboard, screen calls, and provide courteous assistance to staff and visitors.
- Keep things moving: Receive and verify visitors, issue ID tags, and maintain accurate internal directories.
- Support daily operations: Handle incoming and outgoing mail, assist with supply orders, and process receipts for inmate trust funds.
- Stay organized: Perform a variety of administrative tasks that keep our institution running efficiently.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory Requirement
You are proficient in English as well as oral and written French at the advanced level.
Reception Expertise
- You have experience with multi-line switchboards and front desk services.
- You have knowledge of courier procedures and general administrative practices
Communication Skills
- You can to handle inquiries with tact and professionalism—even in challenging situations.
Analytical and Reasoning Skills
- You can prioritize calls, spot unusual or urgent requests and action them.
Computer Skills
- You are comfortable using computer applications and internal databases for documentation and information checks.
