Responsibilities
The Service Technician I is responsible for delivering high-quality field service support, including maintenance, calibration, repair, and installation of equipment and systems. This role interfaces directly with customers and internal teams to ensure service excellence and promote MSA products and services. The position requires technical proficiency, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic workload with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of MSA equipment and systems.

Conduct system startups, testing, and customer training sessions as required.

Accurately complete service order forms and calibration documentation on a daily basis.

Collaborate with customers, field service personnel, and sales staff to assess service needs and determine priority levels.

Schedule and prioritize service visits to address evolving customer requirements.

Promote and sell MSA service offerings, including upgrades, replacement products, service contracts, and maintenance parts.

Provide technical support remotely (via phone or email) or on-site at customer locations.

Identify parts needed for service activities and coordinate orders to meet customer needs.

Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory checks to maintain inventory accuracy.

Manage travel-related expenses and submit timely and accurate expense reports.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent technical/military training.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience servicing industrial instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Prior experience in field service involving installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of industrial electronics and systems.
- Familiarity with gas detection instruments and industrial control systems.
