##Job Summary:

This role is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of Public Policy Centre outputs including high-impact events, panels, workshops, and publications within CSA Standards. The role provides operational leadership across the Public Policy team, managing workflows, resources, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure high‑quality outputs are delivered on time.

-Managesthe Public Policy Project Managers and maintain strong working relationships with Senior Public Policy Managers and external vendors -Operational Planning: Leads and coordinates workflows between policy publications and events to ensure alignment of timelines and outputs (e.g., resource allocation, potential risks) -Production Process: Leads the policy report publication process to ensure a high editorial standard (e.g., copy edit, design, translation, etc.) liaise with Senior Policy Managers on progress and risks -Policy Engagement: Leads the development and execution of public policy events (e.g., contacting panelists, booking venues, coordinating logistics) and liaise with Senior Policy Managers on progress and risks -Standards Alignment and Stakeholder engagement: Maintains strong working relationships with other CSA teams (marketing and communications, events, standards) and external vendors

Working Relationships:

  • Reports to the VP, Public Policy
  • Supervises Project Manager, Public Policy Production and Project Manager, Public Policy Engagement and external vendors
  • Works closely with Senior Policy Managers and members of Public Policy Team
  • Maintains relationships with external vendors including authors, research organizations, editors, translators, graphic designers, etc.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Corporate Communications, Research, Government Relations, Legal, Procurement and others

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Understanding the Business

  • Understands the CSA Group value proposition of business opportunities identified in the Public Policy strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand how the CSA Public Policy Centre activities fit within CSA corporate strategies and priorities.

Working Well with Others

  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to the team
  • Recruits, leads, coaches and motivates a high-performance team by building career paths for professional growth, through goal-setting, continuous feedback, mentoring and training.
  • Works with various groups of policymakers, researchers, community advocates, and industry leaders to identify engagement needs and opportunities.
  • Works closely with all members of the Public Policy team to support alignment across publications and events
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for internal leadership regarding the status of all CSA Public Policy Centre outputs.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Standards organization, including Marketing, Corporate Communications and Legal to ensure alignment with standards activities
  • Works closely with external vendors including report authors, research organizations, editors, translators, graphic designers, etc.

Delivering Results

  • Assign priorities, review work plans, and provide guidance to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of policy outputs and events using project management software.
  • Set strategic priorities for policy convenings and publication initiatives in alignment with the Public Policy Centre’s mandate and strategic objectives.
  • Leads the workflows between publications and events to adhere to timelines and meet deliverables.
  • Ensure a high editorial standard of policy publications (e.g., consistency, editorial quality).
  • Keeps the management team informed of advances or delays in the production pipeline (e.g., capacity constraints, scheduling conflicts)
  • Other duties as necessary to support the Public Policy team

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, communications, project management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, production, operations or related roles, ideally in research, government or nonprofit setting.
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role that includes coaching and developing a team.
  • Strong planning, organizational and prioritization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Bilingual in English and French would be an asset.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo in an effort to drive systemic change and improvements.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management software, as well as web-based meeting platforms such as Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of an extended, cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation) – communicates effectively and professionally.

The typical hiring range for this position is $98,490 - $129,270 CAD gross annually. The actual base pay offered will depend on factors such as education, licenses, certifications and experience. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
