Position Description

The Retail Associate will provide efficient, courteous customer service, merchandising and stocking, and assist shop volunteers.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

• Perform shop opening and closing procedures as required and support the volunteers in the shop to ensure a consistent and friendly atmosphere
• Play a large role in the merchandising and rotation of products according to merchandising guidelines ensuring product is presentable, clean and saleable
• Ensure all loss prevention systems and procedures are performed according to established guidelines while keeping the store clean and safe for customers and employees
• Perform all standard cash register transactions proficiently and accurately according to operational procedures including cash, debit card, and credit card transactions
• Provide superior customer service, answer customer inquiries and resolve complaints
• Help support the stockroom volunteers with inventory management and the processing of online orders

Here's What You'll Need

• High School Diploma is required, and customer service experience is an asset.
• Minimum 1 year of previous merchandising experience and accurate and efficient service in a retail environment
• Understanding of electronic cash register systems and basic merchandising principles
• Good communication and excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity.
• Experience working within a volunteer organization is an asset
