About the role
As a Trading Operations Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of trades by managing post-trade processes, automating workflows, reconciling data, and mitigating operational risks. This position bridges traders, technology, compliance, and middle/back-office teams—ensuring operational integrity in fast-paced trading environments.
To provide support to all aspects of CMC’s trading operations, Customer and Hedge, including:
- Provide real time trade support to internal trading desks and external clients facing teams.
- 2nd Tier Resolution of Customer queries and complaints, escalation of complaint if appropriate.
- Monitoring of financing and cost of carry rates charged to Customers.
- Monitoring of internal pricing tolerances, investigating and resolving any discrepancies identified
- Monitoring and reconciliation of FX balances across the business
- Ensure Customer facing and internal systems are functioning as designed.
- Communication of events affecting Customer accounts, including change of margins, trading restrictions etc.
- Verification and authorisation of payments out, and support of reconciliation process’.
- Collaborate with IT teams on the development, UAT, and release of new systems and trading functionalities. Provide operational input during requirement gathering and ensure systems meet the needs of the trade support function and end users.
- Design and implementation of workflow and procedures for Trading Operations.
- Maintenance of Product list and related reference data.
- Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training.
- When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high-quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.
- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
- Coordinate effectively with global offices to ensure smooth handovers between regional teams across different time zones. Provide accurate status updates and highlight any open issues requiring follow-up.
Key Skill & Experience
- Relevant experience in a similar within financial sector.
- Understanding of CFD and SB products
- Understanding of financial markets, and the settlement processes associated with these markets, in particular UK and US
- IT competent, particularly MS Office.
- Methodical and thorough approach to tasks, able to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Confident communicator.
- Numerate.
- Working knowledge of Reuters / Bloomberg preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of Corporate Actions preferred but not mandatory
