About the role
We are hiring a Director, Maintenance & Reliability on a permanent basis at our Co-op Refinery Complex in Regina, SK reporting to the General Manager, Refinery Operations.
We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Refinery Leadership Team and shape the future of maintenance and reliability at the Co-op Refinery Complex. What you’ll do:
- Provide strategic leadership to the Maintenance & Reliability Department, setting direction to enhance asset availability, reduce operating risk, and move the refinery toward a preventative and predictive maintenance culture.
- Set expectations for equipment integrity and reliability, guiding asset care strategies, risk-based inspection programs, and critical reliability analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
- Oversee major maintenance and turnaround programs, ensuring effective planning, contractor performance, and resource allocation to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution by championing data-driven decision-making, performance metrics, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead and develop a diverse team of over 300 employees, ensuring strong leadership capability, accountability, and a culture of safety, engagement, and technical excellence.
- Act as a core member of the Refinery Leadership Team, shaping enterprise-wide strategy, supporting incident response, and serving as a trusted source of mechanical and reliability expertise.
Who you’ll work with:
The Team: You will lead a diverse Maintenance & Reliability team of more than 300 management and unionized employees, with direct responsibility for four Superintendents and a Training Manager, guiding safe maintenance execution, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement of refinery operations.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in maintenance leadership and:
- Have 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5–10 years in formal leadership roles, ideally within maintenance operations in a refinery or other manufacturing environments.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, preferably with APEGS (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
- Are a collaborative leader with the ability to build strong teams, partner with enabling functions, mentor future leaders, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
- Are well versed in operational excellence foundations and fundamentals.
- Are a forward-thinking problem solver who can balance long-term strategy with day-to-day operational demands in a complex manufacturing environment.
This opportunity is a Band 10 – Operations position and falls within the Organizational Leadership career stream .
