Role

What You’ll Do CoolIT Systems, Inc. is hiring a full time Test Technologist – Electromechanical to oversee passive cold-plate loops, components test and qualification activities at CoolIT. You will be responsible for writing test plans and execute test activities. You will also be responsible for designing and development of test fixtures.

Reporting to Test Team Lead (CDU), this is an excellent opportunity for an independent and experienced technologist who strives for testing excellence and wants to contribute to the future of scalable computer cooling solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering validation and qualification test plans to ensure compliance to internal and customer defined standards.
  • Execute test plans, analyze data, and present test results with a focus on implications to design function, reliability, and compliance.
  • Conduct thermal, material, mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing using universal testing machines, thermal and environmental chambers, vibration tables, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Review test results, compliance statements, and other documentation to verify product adherence to internal and external standards.
  • Understand product, component, and material requirements and participate in new product reviews and perform risk assessments to support qualification planning
  • Carry out failure analysis, root cause investigations, and related quality processes in support of the Quality Management System.
  • Develop new test processes and procedures to assess physical component and liquid cooling assembly performance and reliability.
  • Develop automated test equipment; system design, component selection, bill of materials preparation, build and commissioning.
  • Statistical analysis of data, plan and execute DoE and Gage R&R studies, and perform other lean six sigma processes.
  • Preparation and presentation of other technical reports and documentation.

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications

  • BS or Technical Diploma in Mechatronics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of material science and experience with physical testing, measurement and metrology.
  • Experience in test and qualification of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Data acquisition and collection of temperature, pressure, flow or similar data, and control of actuators, motors, and other electrical components.
  • Experience using lab and bench tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, microscopes, CMM equipment, Instron or UTM, etc.
  • Understanding of ASTM and ISO test methods and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing test plans and test cases
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD and mechanical drawing.
  • Knowledge of programming tools such as LabView, Python, C/C++, etc.
  • Automation experience
