Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.
Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.
Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.
About the role
As ATB’s next Practice Management Consultant you will provide expert guidance and consultation to advisors and advisor teams to optimize practice performance and address challenges at critical milestones such as hiring associates, forming teams, or planning succession to drive growth and long-term sustainability. This role guides advisors in transforming their practice models to fully support and enable the firm's client centric, expert advisory vision. Acting as a trusted thought partner, the role translates data-driven insights and industry research into practical solutions, facilitates adoption of Standards of Practice, and elevates advisor efficiency and capabilities. Beyond direct advisor support, Practice Management Consultants also contribute to strategic initiatives, mentor colleagues, and share insights with senior leadership to influence the evolution of future programs and standards.
Accountabilities
- Support strategic projects and enterprise initiatives, contributing expertise to strengthen advisor practices and align with organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with Mastery Coaches and Regional Directors to ensure practice consulting solutions align with organizational priorities and support for advisors across all career stages and levels of mastery.
- Equip Regional Directors and other leaders with practice-level data and consulting frameworks to enrich their coaching conversations and drive team performance against our Standards of Practice.
- Develop and recommend guidelines aligned to our Standards of Practice for optimizing advisors practices by leveraging data-driven insights (e.g., KPIs, metrics) and bringing in subject matter experts as required.
- Provide advanced practice management consulting to advisors and teams, addressing barriers and opportunities at critical milestones including succession planning, business expansion, team formation.
- Conduct reviews of business processes and Salesforce utilization, identifying opportunities for efficiency, enhancement, and alignment to Standards of Practice.
- Utilize practice management frameworks and standards of practice through one-on-one consultations, workshops, and training sessions.
- Develop, review, and facilitate training materials on Salesforce and practice optimization to build advisor capability.
- Provide research guidance, uncover insights, and identify best-in-class experts or standards to enhance advisor success.
- Mentor and guide our Technology Support team members, contributing to the continuous development of the Practice Consultant and Coaching functions.
- Act as a thought partner to internal stakeholders, sharing patterns, trends, and strategic insights to inform future initiatives.
Skills, experience & requirements
- Skills:
- Expert ability to synthesize insights, research, and industry trends into actionable recommendations for advisors and leaders.
- Deep knowledge of practice management principles, including business planning, team structuring, succession, and operational efficiency.
- Advanced knowledge of Salesforce and other relevant tools, with the ability to troubleshoot, recommend enhancements, and facilitate advisor training.
- Skilled in managing and contributing to practice management initiatives and strategic projects.
- Exceptional skills in building trusted partnerships, influencing diverse stakeholders, and clearly articulating complex practice management concepts to diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of wealth management, compliance considerations, industry trends, and market forces that shape advisor practices.
- Strong at mentoring, building capability and consistency across the Practice Consulting and Coaching technology support function.
- Accreditation:
- University degree or equivalent coursework and experience in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Organizational Development, Marketing).
- Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation, or willingness to obtain, strongly preferred.
- Project management designation (e.g., PMP, CAPM) considered an asset.
- Financial services designations (e.g., CSC, CFP, CIM) considered an asset.
- Minimum 5+ years in consulting, practice management, or financial services advisory roles.

A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.
We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
