The Opportunity As a Maintenance – Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing maintenance and operational performance across multiple Medicom production sites. You will define, implement, and audit maintenance and project management processes while applying Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance reliability, safety, cost efficiency, and overall equipment performance. This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on support, with significant collaboration across global teams and up to 50% travel in North America and Europe.
What You Will Do Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures (onsite and travel).
- Support accident investigation and risk analysis activities.
- Conduct safety audits and machine safety improvement studies.
Continuous Improvement & Operations
- Support Coach and train teams on Lean best practices (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, 5Why, TPM, A3, DMAIC, etc.).
- Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and SQDC management.
- Develop performance indicators and drive process optimization.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to eliminate defects.
Maintenance Support
- Implement and monitor maintenance plans (including CMMS, predictive maintenance).
- Lead incident analyses and propose action plans.
- Train maintenance teams on Lean practices.
- Improve equipment performance and service efficiency through KPIs.
- Industrial Projects Represent Maintenance and CI in factory/machine projects.
- Participate in all project phases and ensure knowledge transfer to operations.
- Define documentation, spare parts, workflows, and standard work.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, methods, HSE, purchasing, and external partners.
- Liaise with authorities and certified organizations for regulatory compliance.
- Supervise subcontractors as needed.
What You Bring
- Strong knowledge of maintenance processes and methods.
- Proficiency with Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI.
- Experience with Lean tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis).
- Statistical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering degree (industrial, mechanical, electrical, automation, quality, project management) + 3 years in manufacturing OR Technician diploma + 10 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
Assets
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Knowledge of process automation or AI technologies.
- Experience with international, multi-site environments.
- Passion for sharing knowledge and driving change.
